When helmet is a must …

In the middle of all this Kabhi Haan Kabhi Na type situation around “helmet rule” in Bangalore, I dug this out from Deccan Herald photo archives (June 20).

Enterprising spirit of motorists in finding alternate routes was the original context for this photo. But I just couldn’t help notice that of the two bikers in the picture, only the guy on the tracks is wearing a helmet!

i’m appalled and horrified. that track hardly looks like one that is in disuse! why would anyone take such a risk is simply beyond me. and looking at the gent’s expression, he seems to be enjoying the adventure?! what he needs is not a helmet but using something beneath it!

DH photo caption said ” … A motorist trying to reach his destination when the National Highway was blocked for some time near Farangipet …”

The guy is grinning at being photographed. And it could very well be that he was egged on by the cameraman to ride on the tracks. Press photographers have been known to do that.
