Brick & Mortar vs. Glass & Chrome

That oft used adage ” Change is the only constant ” keeps coming to my mind particularly when I see old buildings of Bangalore that get replaced by the new.

Take for instance, the Bible Society of India’s new building on M.G Road (no, I’m not talking about the one at the corner of St. Marks Road) but the one diagonally opposite Mahalakshmi Chambers.

To understand the metamorphosis that has taken place, try as I might, I can’t find images of the old building that existed earlier. Today, of course, it looks like this, completely different from its earlier avatar.

Can somebody help?

Well said (the title) Ravi. Its so true. While we crib about things, the city is definitely undergoing a big change as old constructions give way to new.

Its like a ‘silent’ change. No grand examples come to mind, but you do notice this metamorph happening every 200 meters!
