Jayadeva circle flyover opens today

Yes, yet another flyover opens today (Monday)! [Shruthi had the end in sight a week ago]

Jayadeva circle flyover was all decked up for the opening ceremony previous evening itself. And unlike the Airport Road flyover puncture fiasco, they seem to have done a better job here. All the tent-poles were standing on flat metal plates, with no serious damage to the road visible. (apologies for the poor quality cellphone pic)

BTW, this flyover is going to make Inner Ring Road even more miserable. And vehicles coming south from Dairy Circle are all going to slow down near Shoppers Stop, so expect big jams there as well. We will soon have demands for a few more flyovers in the vicinity.

Just the way you end up telling several lies to save one …

My guess is that the traffic near shopper’s stop will be streamlined because most of the traffic there was diverted traffic, which will now take the main roads instead of all the small roads in JPNgr 3rd phase. There will be fewer vehicles trying to turn right from JP Nagar towards Banneraghatta.

My other concern on the flyover is the sharp merge on the ramp for turning right when you approach from Banneraghatta.

    Hi,
I have been driving up this stretch for nearly 7 years and we used to have a traffic jam at this junction ( anything new?).

After the flyover got comissioned its the same story. I had to be in the jam OVER The flyover today and fear that it may collapse – fly overs are built for flying over and not having vehicls stand with load for minutes to gather…

conclusion: I would have taken a detour (longer one) inside BTM as i suffer from chronic asthma and now police have made sure i cant do that with barricades… think i should quit job on hosur road considering my health.

    mohan!
