In search of the perfect momo – Part 1

Momos have been one of my all-time favourites when it comes to quick eats. In fact, it serves as both a snack and as a meal (if you eat a whole plate of about 6-8 of them!). My favourite are steamed chicken momos.

In Bangalore, one place you get delicious and really reasonably priced momos is this place called Taste of Tibet off Brigade Road. Most people give me a puzzled look when I talk about it since most have not heard of any place beyond Pecos on that street!

It’s quite a well-tucked away location, on the second floor of the Tibetan market building. My usual order there is a place of momos, of course. But Aqua, who actually first told me about this place, she swears by the thupkas – a filling meal of soup and noodles. You also get chowmein and other Tibetan delights if you’re looking for a reasonably priced but filling meal, after completing your shopping on Brigade Road. However, don’t expect anything fancy! The service also is quite fast.

USP: Chicken momos! And with the spicy sauce on the side, tastes even better!

Location: 2nd floor of the Tibetan market building, just after Pecos on the left, beside Tuscan Lounge. The road continues to Rest House Road.

I’ve had momo’s at the Leela ( bit sized & very fancy! ) and at Yo China in Vasant Vihar in Delhi ( more than a mouthful and tasty beyond belief!) but boy, am I going to visit a Taste of Tibet SOON or what?! Thanks. I see no pics…so that’s left to me now, eh? Cheers!
