Sitting Duck?

I felt real pain when I saw the images of the recent Mumbai bomb blasts. That city has been targeted time and again and has always come back strongly.

I was then contemplating on the security readiness of Bangalore. With so many IT firms and BPO companies, Bangalore is a major revenue earner and attracts talent from many parts of India.

This is a juicy target for any anti-social element.

So much is talked about the current vigil and readiness of the police force. When Ravi wrote about the pathetic security during Metro inaugural event, I was shocked and surprised.

One gets the feeling that Bangalore is a sitting duck!

Do you think so?

What can we do secure Bangalore – at the same time minimize inconvenience to the people?

Kanth, topical & relevant post. Pathetic is a strong word considering ‘security’ was in abundant presence at the event. ‘Careless’ would be more like it, actually. Still, such slip-ups cannot happen when it concerns the PM!

Good point Ravi, as no damage was done!

There is a lot of difference between “perceived security” and “actual security”.

If something had happened, I guess the media would not hesitate to use “pathetic”

    :)
