Reports about the radio war

The Hindu : Karnataka / Bangalore News : FM channel wars

Oh man! One of the best reports I’ve seen.

>

Well, objectively speaking, it paints out the situation, just as a report is suppposed to be. But undertones of criticism of the child-like war that’s on between Radio City [Star group’s 6 year-old channel] and Radio Mirchi [The newly launched channel by the Times Group], a mockery or sarcastic piece of sorts, and sarcasm [maybe] are seen too?

Readings of the report indicate there’s some partiality towards the newly launched channel. Or am I reading too much?

And no one can forget how Kannada activists took out on Mirchi recently, demonstrating outside their office in Indiranagar. Well, they aren’t to be blamed… Neither is the channel.

Now with this war of Language going on, it’s best to sit watch and see if the city scores over the spice.

The Times group sold its rights out on Mirchi, from what I know. Its owned by some new entity (forget the name).
