Measuring one’s confidence

This is going back a bit to the events of last week and is perhaps not a nice thing to say.

But watching (on TV) the way police themselves behaved by hitting out indiscriminately with lathis – almost vengefully, it appeared, at the crowds (‘mourners’?) within the Kanteerva Stadium and then, becoming the target of furious mobs (remember the stone throwing into the police van?), the news that city police staged a flag march – the second one at that, to restore confidence among public seems a bit too far fetched to believe.

To restore confidence among public after the violence in the wake of Rajkumar’s death and funeral procession, City police along with RAF and KSRP Commandos took out a Flag March in various parts of the City on Tuesday as well…….

Its more like the flag march was to instill confidence amongst/within their battered selves as upholders of law, order & authority, methinks.

Meanwhile, it was good to read and know that Dr. Rajkumar’s sons visited the injured and their families in around 3 hospitals on Monday.

Now that should make Annavru confident of his sons’ compassion and humanity….

I dont understand it at all. What/Where exactly were the RAF platoons when they were needed most, on the day of Annavaru’s death (and the next day), in areas where disturbances and arson are regular features – in areas of RajajiNagar, Majestic, GowriPalya/allied Vijayanagar area, and so on?

The administration was as complacent about it all as the Dharam Singh Govt was during the flooding. We need people like Krishna back.

    @ Bangalore Guy,
Better to give the impression of a show of strength than a lack of ‘solid’arity, I guess!
    ;)
